GCodeEdit application data

GCodeEdit performs its editing, analysis, diagnostics, backplotting, stock simulation, import, export, and recovery work locally on your computer. It does not require an account and does not include advertising, analytics, telemetry, tracking, online activation, or crash reporting. The application makes no network connections.

Rivers Edge Software does not collect or transmit the contents of your G-code programs, machine profiles, tool tables, workpiece settings, reports, or recovery files through GCodeEdit.

Information stored on your device

GCodeEdit stores application preferences, window layout, recent-file history, machine profiles, tool tables, per-program stock settings, and automatic recovery copies locally. These remain under your control and can be removed by deleting the associated files or the application's local settings. Files you open or export are used only at locations you choose.

Stores and third parties

GCodeEdit contains no advertising or third-party analytics SDK. If you obtain the app through the Microsoft Store or Mac App Store, that store independently processes your purchase, installation, updates, and any store-provided diagnostics under its own terms and privacy policy. Rivers Edge Software may receive aggregate store reporting, not the contents of your local GCodeEdit files.

Voluntary support communications

General contact-form messages are delivered to our support mailbox. Problem reports, including your name, reply address, and submitted diagnostic details, are stored as issues in our private GitHub repository, accessible to authorized maintainers and support automation. You do not need a GitHub account, and we do not publish your report. GitHub processes this information as the provider of our support tracker under its privacy statement. The website also uses keyed identifiers derived from submissions and connection addresses to limit abuse and prevent duplicate reports; raw connection addresses are not included in issues. Ordinary hosting access logs may still be retained. Duplicate-detection receipts are normally kept for seven days; unresolved delivery receipts may be kept until reviewed.

If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, message, diagnostic details, screenshots, or an example program. We use it only to respond, provide support, diagnose problems, improve GCodeEdit, maintain security, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell it or use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.

We retain voluntary communications only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes, then delete or anonymize them unless a longer period is required by law. You may request access, correction, or deletion of information you submitted directly to us.

Children

GCodeEdit is professional CNC software and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the application.

Changes

We may revise this policy when GCodeEdit's practices or legal requirements change. The updated policy will show a new “Last updated” date. If a future feature collects or transmits data, we will update the application, store disclosures, and this policy before distributing that feature.
